ICAP’s 2015 Lobby Day, Capitol Visit & Reception

On Wednesday May 6th ICAP got the chance to talk directly with our legislators about issues affecting the real estate appraisal business.

In an organized effort lead by ICAP’s lobbyist Andy Raucci participants lobbied Illinois lawmakers demonstrating that the Illinois appraisal profession is made up of professionals who recognize the importance of being actively involved in the political process.

The event supported ICAP’s proposed legislation, HB2664, which would amend the Appraisal Management Company Registration Act providing for an Appraisal Management Company Recovery Fund, and HB3333 which would amend the Real Estate License Act of 2000 allowing Appraisers who hold a brokers license to perform Broker Price Opinions.

ICAP’s Political Action Committee (PAC) receives contributions from its members, and utilizes those funds to help elect candidates who support appraiser related issues. ICAP’s PAC is non-partisan, supporting both Republican and Democratic candidates who promote the legislative priorities of the appraisal profession in Illinois.
