Dear Fellow Appraisers,

Earlier this year, The Fair Appraisal and Inequity Reform Act of 2022 was introduced by the House Financial Services Committee hearing on Bias and Discrimination in the residential appraisal process. Prior to its introduction, the appraisal community was generally excluded from providing expertise about the valuation profession. Appraisers have always understood the importance of having a seat at the table as many past legislative actions had enormous consequences on the appraisal profession.

Since 1994, ICAP’s mission has been to represent the interests of appraisers in both Illinois and at the national level, providing continued education seminars, informing appraisers of regulatory iniatives and lobbying the State of Illinois on issues impacting our profession. Did you know, ICAP participates in several organizations influencing appraisal-related legislation and regulation at the national level.

As 2023 is a renewal year, we invite ICAP members to take advantage of the member discount on our highly acclaimed summer seminars. These programs focus on relevant topics, providing practical appraisal applications, along with legislative and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation updates. As a member of ICAP you’ll also have access to our Job Board.

ICAP’s mission is to promote the appraisal profession and its image to the general public and to users of appraisal services. As such, ICAP is committed to being on the forefront of protecting Illinois Appraisers, advancing the profession, and protecting the public trust in real estate appraisal.

Please consider including a PAC contribution with your 2023 membership dues payment. ICAP continues to promote and protect the interest of the appraisal profession in the Illinois General Assembly and need your support. Your PAC contributions are essential to ICAP remaining a strong political activist for appraisers in Illinois.

On behalf of the ICAP Board of Directors, we thank you for your continued membership, support, and participation, and we look forward to serving you in 2023.
